Valentines Concert!

Grade 3 and 4 students have been working very hard to put together an exciting Valentines presentation for your enjoyment. The concert will take place on Tuesday, February 14th at 1:30 in the gym. Treat yourself and your loved ones to an afternoon of Valentines entertainment! Tickets can be purchased at the office or at the door on concert day.

Pippy Park Winterfest!

Welcome back! We hope that everyone enjoyed their Christmas break.

All classroom teachers now have a web site. Parents should check regularly for information and educational web sites for their children to practice concepts taught in school. Web sites can be accessed by clicking on Teacher websites under the teacher tab.

We now have 2 new teachers on staff – Ms. Melanie Power is replacing Ms. McDonald until Easter and Ms. Terri Fowler is replacing Ms. Winnett for the remainder of the school year.

Classroom Highlights

Each month we will be highlighting one classroom and the work that the students there are doing. We have a new page in our main menu called Classroom Highlights.

This month we are showing the Animal Research Glogs created by students in Ms. Keefe’s Grade 4 class. A Glog is an electronic poster. Students chose an animal, researched it using National Geographic Kids, brainstormed and created a video presentation about their animal, and then created their posters. All students worked hard to present their animal in an interesting way. The final products are informative and engaging.

Also take time to visit the House of Wooden Santas and view the grade 3 students’ presentation.

Important Christmas Dates

Dec. 6th – December parent memo is being sent home today. Please read for important information.

Dec. 8th – Christmas concert is at 1:30 (Grades 1 & 2)

Dec. 15th – Kindergarten concert at 1:30. Kindergarten children should not come to school until 1pm on that day.

Dec. 16th – School lunch program ends for the holidays. Students will need to bring their own lunches on Dec. 19th, 20th, and 21st.

Dec. 20th – Student-of-the-Month assemblies. Primary at 1:00 pm, Elementary at 1:30 pm

Dec. 21st – Christmas closing is at 1pm.

Remembrance Day Assembly

Our assembly for Remembrance Day is hosted by the Grade 5 classes; it takes place at 2: p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 9 in the school gym.
